IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED
The Calvert County Public Schools need your help! Today the Board of Education passed their budget for Fiscal Year 2025 and we need to rally support for the BOE Budget at the meeting of the Calvert County Department of Finance & Budget TOMORROW NIGHT, Tuesday March 19, at 7:00 pm.
As many of you know, the district is facing a $22 million state funding budget cut, and needs the county to step up and provide additional funding in order to close that gap. Without the funding, our students are facing hardships like larger class sizes, staff cuts, and even the elimination of all middle school athletics. We say that the education of our students is imperative for the future of our county, and a strong foundation of academics fuels growth and progress for all, whether you have students enrolled or not.
If you want to show your support for Calvert County Schools, we hope you will attend the meeting TOMORROW NIGHT and speak in support for the Board of Education budget. You are also able to attend and comment virtually, if that better fits your needs.
