2023 Goldstein Miller Gala

The Calvert County Democratic Party invites you to the 2023 Goldstein Miller Gala! Join us from 6:00 - 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Rod ‘n Reel Resort in Chesapeake Beach. The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, and live music along the picturesque Chesapeake Bay. Remarks will be provided by several special guests, including our own Congressman Steny Hoyer. Additional invited guests include Maryland Governor, Wes Moore, Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, our state legislators, and local officials.

Each year we honor estimable Democrats serving Calvert County, and this year the recipients of the Goldstein and Miller Awards are truly exemplary leaders.

The Goldstein Award is given annually to honor the memory of Louis L. Goldstein.  When selecting a Democrat to be the recipient of this award, we remember the qualities of honesty, decency and hard work that he embodied. We are excited to announce that this year’s Goldstein Award is being presented to Inez Claggett.

The Miller Award is given each year in honor of Thomas V. “Mike” Miller, Jr.  Senator Miller dedicated his life to the betterment of our state through public service.  The recipient of his namesake award is a Democratic elected official who reflects that same stalwart commitment to ensuring a stronger State for all its citizens through public service.  This year we are excited to announce that we will be honoring United States Senator Ben Cardin.
