Statement Regarding Hateful Symbol on Trump Sign

We are incredibly disconcerted having learned that a swastika had been placed on a political sign here in Calvert County. We find it to be completely unacceptable for that hateful imagery to be displayed anywhere in our community, and we hope to hear public condemnation of this act by all candidates running for office in Calvert County, as well as our Board of County Commissioners. 

We have seen hateful anti-semitic and racist acts, threats, and imagery in Calvert County before, and we must NEVER allow it to be tolerated, overlooked, or underestimated. No matter how contentious an election may be, there is no space for hate-speech or discrimination of any kind in our county. We are relieved to hear the symbol has been removed, and we sincerely hope it is never displayed in Calvert County ever again.
