Hogan Calls For General Election To Be Held In-Person
In Hogan's announcement on 7/8/20, he dropped the ball in regards to protecting our right to vote along with our health and safety. According to his statement, ballots will not be automatically sent to voters as was done in the primary, but registered voters will be sent an absentee ballot application.
Due to this, we encourage you all to apply for your absentee ballot NOW so your request will be received early and you can get your ballot promptly. Here's the info you need about requesting an absentee ballot: www.calvertdemocrats.com/absentee-ballots. By voting absentee, those who are at higher risk from COVID-19 are able to not take additional risks to their health, as well as fewer voters showing up to the polls, lessening the burden on in-person voting.
In addition, if you are interested in working as an Election Judge or a polling place challenger/watcher during in-person voting, please apply to do so. These positions do have certain requirements such as being a registered voter in Maryland, so if you have yet to do register, please take that opportunity now. The links provided below will define the requirements to be considered for these positions. Many of our polling place workers are at a higher risk from Covid-19, so if you are at less of a risk and are willing to step up, please consider doing so.
