Delegate Michael Jackson to be Recommended to fill Dist. 27 Vacancy

A public hearing was held on Saturday, January 9th 2021 to fill the vacancy of State Senate District 27. As a result of the proceedings, the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee has voted to recommend Delegate Michael Jackson to fill the vacancy. The recommendation will be sent to Governor Hogan on Monday, January 11. We congratulate Delegate Jackson and thank him for his continued service to the citizens of Calvert County. We also wish to thank all of the candidates who interviewed and were considered for this appointment. We look forward to working with you all in the future.

When Delegate Jackson is officially appointed to the seat, we will conduct another hearing to fill the vacancy he will leave in District 27B in the House of Delegates. We will make a public notification when that process will occur.
