Incorrect Sample Ballots Sent To Voters

It has come to our attention that Republican sample ballots have been mailed to Democratic voters in various jurisdictions throughout the state, including here in Calvert County. We have had many of our voters reach out expressing concern and confusion. We have been in direct communication with our local Board of Elections, and they have assured us that they working quickly to correct this issue, and have said they will be sending out correct sample ballots to those affected as soon as possible. We will continue to actively monitor the situation.

Here is the statement from the Calvert County Election Board posted via Facebook:

The Calvert County Election Board advises that due to a technical issue, voters may have been mailed an incorrect sample ballot. New sample ballots are being printed and will be mailed as soon as possible. The corrected sample ballots will say “Corrected” on the outside.

Mail-in ballots are not affected, nor will this issue affect in-person ballots received during early voting or on primary election day, July 19, 2022.

Citizens may contact the Election Board at 410-535-2214 or elections@calvertcountymd.gov with questions.
